106.5 WKDZ is by far the most common station on 106.5 at my DXing setup. For some reason, 106.5 WSKZ in Chattanooga isn't terribly strong at my particular location, and with my primary antenna being simply dipole with the broad side facing east/west, WKDZ is often audible throughout the day to some degree. If you go any farther southeast down I-24, WSKZ "KZ-106" will take over the frequency.
And regarding the tropo discussed earlier... last Wednesday through Friday (6/29-7/1) featured lots of good tropo during the overnight hours. Last Wednesday evening I was able to dig out some fun stuff as distant as Souix Falls, SD on tropo (755 miles). I posted a brief summary of this opening with some audio clips here:
http://www.wtfda.info/showthread.php?6233-6-29-Tropo-mid-Tennessee-to-IL-IA-SD. The next night featured much stronger signals, but shorter distances (closer to 300 miles on average) to central Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri.
The regular e-skip we are all used to during the summer is indeed rather lackluster this year, as another poster noted. There was a good opening yesterday to Florida, though.
