ESPN 103.3 Signal

I have been observing ESPN 103.3 after the sun goes down--seemingly getting stronger in the North Ft. Worth area. On a clock radio of mine & boom box, it can receive the signal clear without any problem at night but during the day they are hard to receive.

Why would this be?

I can't get it at all

It is a bugger to pick up during the day, even on a sony boom box. Fades in & out so bad it's not listenable, and even in my brother's 95 camaro driving down Rufe Snow Drive (North Richland Hills, for those that are unfamiliar with this side of town), it was having fits. Was trying to hear the Mavs pre game yesterday. It was totally unlistenable..maybe last night I got lucky somehow?

103.3 Should come in Fine In Dallas. Could be that the radio your using might not have that great of sensitivity. ;)

AS for the night thing. I read somewhere that the ionosphere has something to do with that.

(also THE SMILEYS ARE BACK! :) :) :) )

I'm curious if this is always the case. Tropospheric ducting could have something to do with what you're experiencing considering how high the humidity has been lately, all the weather we've had, and it's still warm. You should be in the 60db contour in N Fort Worth for KESN though. It sounds like your receiver's sensitivity. ???
