New question on an old topic.
Several weeks ago (some time in November 2012), Lafayette's ESPN 1450 started airing "Safety Blitz with Rodney Harrison" (an NBC Sports Radio program) early on Sunday mornings from approximately 6:00a to 8:00a, preempting ESPN Radio's "RaceDay" program and ESPN's "John Kincade Show." "Safety Blitz" seems to be a good program, but ESPN 1450's mix of network NBC Sports Radio sounders and local ESPN 1450 sounders during that program sounds ... well ... odd. (Even if I'm the only one listening at that time of the week, it still sounds odd -- "I'm Bob Costas, and this is NBC Sports Radio," then "Your teams, your games, ESPN 1450, Lafayette" or even "Mike & Mike" or "The Herd" promos.)
NBC Sports Radio network has only existed since September (2012). John Kincade's home station in Atlanta is apparently switching to the soon-to-launch CBS Sports Radio network (in January 2013), so his ESPN Radio presence (he served as fill-in for "The Herd" and occasional co-host of early evening national shows) has been gone since early December (2012). I wouldn't have even noticed ESPN 1450's airing of that NBC Sports Radio program if I hadn't been trying to tune in to John Kincade's show.
Anyway, my question for any Shurz/WASK/Lafayette insiders is this: Is "Safety Blitz" just a one-off? Or is Shurz considering switching 1450 AM from ESPN Radio to NBC Sports Radio?
