ESPN 95.9 WSJZ

Oh well. Another decent rock station bites the dust :( Glad I have Sirius.
So what's to become of 1560? I had always said you can't have sports on a daytimer.

This radio blog is the has the most negative people on it......A decent rock station that didn't have ratings nor made money....It was really decent a couple of years ago with Callahan and Dinero.

The AM is still ESPN for now, running USF and Notre Dame Football.

Did they let go Larry MacKay too (I did hear him on a commercial today on the AM side)? Cumulus must be down to about 5 talking heads now in Melbourne.

I was somewhat amazed while listening today. The AM and FM are not full simulcast; different commericals, ID's, etc. FM has a pro voice (same guy as Pirate 95.9) vs. WINT's "local yocal" cut-ins (that sometimes mis-identify the program).

They are 2 different stations and handled as such....WINT will not have the Gators nor the Magic. It will have USF and Notre Dame. WINT will also have some live local shows.

Very surprised they're utilizing both the AM and FM. Saturday evening 95.9FM carried the Miami Hurricane's radio network while AM was ESPN baseline. On Sunday, FM carried ESPN and AM had NFL (what used to be Westwood One). Actually maximizing the sports content in a non-Pro area --- kudos Cumulus for giving us more than just a single satellite feed.

Thanks Japman...much to the engineers chagrin :)
Looks like the Hurricanes will be played unless there is a conflict with the Gators which will take first position. The AM daytime singnal makes it tough when it comes to scheduling live sports.

They are carrying the Magic Games too. It's amazing to hear ESPN and all the game packages they carry in crystal clear audio. After 15+ years of listening to static out of the O'town AM's, it's a nice change. I tried the web feed of audio tonite to ... it connected quick, but I notice about a 1-minute delay compared to the TV (not that I'm complaining).
