ESPN 98.7 covered the Connecticut shooting all day

I found it interesting that the best radio coverage of the school shooting was from ESPN Radio. I would think that they'd have just mentioned it in passing, but they did wall to wall coverage of the shooting and no sports coverage at all this afternoon. Maybe it's because ESPN's headquartered in Bristol, CT, so they could have been the first national media outlet to arrive at Newtown since it's only 30 minutes away. I also found that ESPN didn't immediately jump on the bandwagon of reporting unconfirmed news as fact, and they clearly mentioned breaking news as unconfirmed.

My prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

I would agree having listened to ESPN NY 98.7.

Mike Francesa also did a fine job covering the story on WFAN. He, too, went pretty much wall-to-wall with his coverage. Excellent job by everyone on Friday.

Mike Francesa is the new CNN for New York. Also had great coverage of the hurricane and the aftermath.
