That was my suggestion. Even with whatever MediaCo's money issues are and Emmis's stubborn insistence on getting $50 million for 98.7, I see a three-way between these firms as a good option to explore. But Emmis needs to drop its price tag for 98.7 and include WLIB as a throw-in. The new buyer can then choose to keep it or spin it.
MSG Network, the Garden and its two main team tenants are so interwoven with each other that splitting them apart, either partially or completely, will be very complicated. Especially in this era where teams are taking control of their tv coverage. Jimmy Dolan can unload the arena and keep the Knicks/Rangers and network or vice-versa, but an MSG Network not co-owned with the teams won't be worth as much.
...why would MSG want to own a radio station? They are a content provider. If they wanted their own station they would have done it a long time ago. No incentive for it now.
