ESPN Deportes 1050 AM to Broadcast Knicks Games

AllAccess and other trades state that starting tonight, ESPN Deportes on 1050 AM will be broadcasting "select" Knicks basketball games in Spanish.
This is an indication that this station will evolve from broadcasting mostly national programming, to offering more local content, much as ESPN radio in English has already done.

I wonder if WEPN-1050 will also broadcast New York Rangers' games in Spanish (now that the NHL is set to start), and will become the new Spanish-language radio flagship for the Yankees this coming season.

With Spanish-language broadcasts of the Jets and Knicks already under the "ESPN Deportes 1050" umbrella, those two teams could make 1050 the Spanish-language play-by-play sports station in the market.

BTW, I suspect that "select" Knicks games would mean mainly home contests and games from "nearby" road cities (i.e. Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Boston). Should Spanish-language broadcasts of the Rangers come to 1050, I suspect they too would be mainly home games with a few "nearby" road games (Islanders, New Jersey).

The Yankees probably would have all their games broadcast on radio in Spanish.

I highly doubt Latinos have shown that much interest in hockey. Now Red Bulls rights on the other hand...

NY Mets spanish language broadcasts will move from 92.7 WQBU to 1050 WEPN for 2013 - link here.

NY Yankees spanish language broadcasts have been on 1280 WADO since 2010.

Agreed with liradioisbad that there is virtually no interest in spanish language hockey broadcasts - as it is, there's no commercial-radio interest in english-language broadcasts of the NY Islanders (currently on Radio Hofstra 88.7 WRHU).
That could change when the team moves to Brooklyn in Autumn 2015.
