ESPN fired Baseball analyst Harold Reynolds

This comes as a shock to me. As a baseball fan , and a regular viewer of Baseball Tonight, I always looked forward to hearing Harold's insight and expertise on the game.

I'm suprised at this move by ESPN as well. Reynolds' analyses combined not only knowledge of the game but a joy and enthusiasm for the subject. That's what made him an absolute pleasure to listen to and watch. I agree he would be a great addition to either FOX or TBS.

Word is today that there was a misunderstanding. Apparently, he gave a female employee a hug, likely innocuous. Mgmt probably took notice, and had a knee-jerk overreaction.

Neither, if the reason for his firing comes out.

Allegedly, it was sexual harrassment. Reynolds says it's a "misunderstanding."

ESPN is known to have a zero-tolerance policy for off-their-air missteps and sexual harrassment is grounds for immediate termination from the network. But apparently being drunk on the air (Rick Sutcliffe, as a guest on a non-ESPN broadcast), p**ing out a mens-room window (Gary Miller), or being caught with drugs (Michael Irvin) will only get you suspended, not fired.

I was made to believe the allegation was worse, glad to hear it's fairly minor. Let's hope cooler heads prevail here.

I think FOX should add him to their pregame show with Jeanne Zelasko. I'm not a big fan of Kevin Kennedy, so either replace him with Harold or make it a two-analyst team.

According to Harold's IMDb profile, he is the host of "Baseball Bunch", a kids show with sports stars and celebrities. Anyone ever seen this show?

I guess Baseball Bunch is the same show Johnny Bench hosted in the 90's. Syndicated deal; I think i stumbled upon it one or two times.

For the uninitiated it's a show geared for 8 to 12 year olds, introducing them to baseball. Things like how to slide and how to figure out ERA and stuff
