ESPN FM?

I really hope that they take over 101.9 instead of 94.7. 94.7 needs to be rock or country. Also, if they take over FM they better not get rid of it on AM and put Spanish Language Sports because for example if I am away from the city traveling, I can still pick up ESPN on AM but not on FM, I want to hear my games still.

Unlikely anything would be simulcast(ed?) on a full power AM and a full power FM with large overlapping signals.
My political views are a bit off the wall, and since Pacifica's most important material is spoken word, I would love to see 99½ swap with 660 or 880, cover a bunch of states at night, get a few million in the deal, and please most everyone on this board.

There is almost zero chance of 101.9. Merlin is in it for the long haul on that frequency.

Most likely, it's 94.7. Most likely, it's an LMA with a sale in the coming months. A sale can't get through the FCC that fast, but an LMA needs no approval.

This would be just like how ESPN Radio got onto New York radio in general: anyone remember how they bought three hours in the afternoon on WEPN's predecessor, WEVD, to clear Dan Patrick's network radio show?

Sounds like a quick WFME LMA, with an eventual buyout (like Disney did with WQEW). Maybe dropping to mono to do the best they can.

Possible on-channel booster (a la WFUV) somewhere in Brooklyn, and a LI simulcast.

The whole thing simulcasted on 1050.

KISS??? Really? I just seen that Funkmaster Flex posted the same. that is HUGE. but in the post it says that Kiss will basically Merge with WBLS.

are they serious?? there going to or had there 30th anniversary how nice!!

They're working with the new owners of WBLS/WLIB to make 107.5 KISS.

On another note how far out on the Island does 98.7 reach? There's 98.7 The Sound WNLC a Classic Hits station licensed to East Lyme, Connecticut that probably can be picked up on part of the Island.

Kiss just ran an announcement stating they will be "joining forces with WBLS, beginning Sunday at midnight."
They said they will be broadcasting a program over the weekend reprising the history of the station.
It is amusing that absolutely none of the speculation mentioned this station as a possible new location for ESPN.
But an article in Radio Business Report yesterday did mention that Randy Michaels, head of Merlin Media, did not think that WFME was ready for sale yet. He does know a thing or two about radio.
It will be interesting whether Emmis will continue to operateHot 97 WQHT as a standalone, or eventually sell/lease it too.

Not sure how strong WRKS Stick is but I think it's one of the Stronger ones in the City. WBLS has already been closed on? I researched. and I don't like one of the new owners Yucaipa which is Ron Burkle. He is known to "flip" Properties quickly. Maybe with Magic Johnson in the loop it maybe safe. UPDATE Kiss FM is playing Sweepers now that mention the changes coming. I'm Glad they are getting the chance to say Goodbye.
