a few months ago (?), mike & mike changed their segment times & breaks again.
it was the usual shuffling around (i.e. more time for their awful live reads and sponsorship tags). the quick 60 second one in the first segment is pretty hilarious. if i want, i now know when to tune back!
greenberg once made a comment that critics who include bashing the ads or the general espn ad saturation when critiquing their show are off the mark. i couldn't disagree more. it's a complete package. i guess they are the victims of the increasing $$ mentality at the network. see: russillo doing reads. it's post-post modern bathos at its nadir.
anyway, at around the :40 minute mark, the show includes a strange fake open mic segment with a producer's (?) voice before the standard espn rejoin bumper. it's so awkward and jarring.
anyone know if this is for a big affiliate, for satellite needs or for an internal reason. just curious...
