On Sunday morning 6/9/2013 I noticed 2 signals on 98.7 (thought it might be some warm-weather "interference"), but upon further inspection it turned out the weaker of the 2 signals was an identical feed of ESPN NY (WEPN-FM) - including IDs.
The only difference was that the weaker signal was 8-9 seconds ahead of the stronger signal - the weaker one was running without HD and its built-in digital delay.
Possibly using/testing one of its backup transmitters? FCC page for WEPN-FM: http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?list=0&facid=63781
This appears to be more easily heard on an analog radio; on a digital radio (especially an HD receiver), once it locks in, it's harder to get the weaker signal.
Still being heard as of this writing; first noticed at about 7:45am ET.
