ESPN on The Zone and The Game?

Am I the only one that noticed that both stations had the same game on at the same time?

Was it ESPN coverage on both? I know ESPN reserves the right to allow for certain overlap during transition periods, so it is likely... However, I have also heard the two stations carrying the same game in recent weeks where one might be Westwood One coverage and the other might be one of the team's own network broadcasts, or other various permutations of same game, two different play-by-plays.

The Game says ESPN is coming in November. So will The Zone still have ESPN too?

And I wonder if The Game will still have their local live shows?

ESPN will be exclusive on the Game. And the Game will still have local live programming... read through the earlier thread on subject

You'd think one of them would be running ESPN2 or something crazy like that...

It does make you wonder since there's an ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, and ESPNU on the telly, if there might not be room for an ESPN2 on radio. I've also wondered just what the scope is of CitaCumulus's license for the ABC Sports name on radio, and if they could use it in developing something besides short-form programming. Such as evening, overnight, and weekend programming to use on their sports stations or to otherwise syndicate.

The Zone knows their backs are against the wall. The odds are stacked against them. Call John McClain. He will tell you that The Zone staff are character guys and will bring a lunchpail attitude to the airwaves.
