ESPN Radio Coming Back to Baton Rouge

http://www.104thex.com/home/onair/99573-ESPN.html

The 104 the X simulcast goes by the wayside sometime this month, as Guaranty brings back ESPN Radio (previously heard on WIBR-AM, and before that WSKR-AM) on 104.5 FM, while 104.9 presumably remains new rockin' as the X.

Couple of thoughts:

- Surprised Citadel isn't bringing this back, but then, where would they put it?

- Wouldn't be surprised to see at least one local daily show, since Guaranty seems willing to spend money.

- Another big help for this go-around of sportstalk in the BR - actual live play by play, because of LSU. Does 104.5 get everything but football?

And as an aside, let me say I'm impressed Guaranty has stuck with alternative/new rock for so long. It's been almost 10 years, hasn't it?

Your thoughts?

I know of some pissed people in Zackary and Baker once they find out as the 104.9 signal is trash up there.

I can understand that it's basically two weak signals that still don't have any power in the center of BR, But surprised they are splitting the simucast (which I beleive has been going since 2002 or so)

But I agree on the citadel angle trying for ESPN on 1300 once it came back on line.. Or at least one of the Dead wasted air Ams out there at times

I have ESPN radio on XM. But this would be nice if it had something local other than the goofballs on 1210.
