ESPN Radio coverage of the World Series

I don't know how many of you caught the radio work of Dan, Orel and Bobby on ESPN Radio's coverage of the world series but I really enjoyed their work. I really felt like I had a front row seat at the game, No one is smoother than Dan on play by play and Orel is readt good.

They showed baseball is still a beautiful game to hear on the radio..

totally agree. not usually a fan of a three person booth but this year it really worked - great analysis & predictive moments at times. valentine is better at the ballpark than in bristol.

in general, all the ESPN radio coverage of the MLB playoffs were above average.

I work until midnight EST weekdays, so I depended on these guys. Sadly the local affiliate didn't start games until 8:30pm, in progress--in a major city.

Was listening to the post-Series analysis on the way home Friday night. Nice to hear. Good to know that the local station stayed with it, and didn't go to the Amy Lawrence show or whatever..... :D

I am in Pittsburgh where relatively few of the games were even available on our local
affiliate, WBGG 970.

It seems as if any sort of Steeler talk preview show that was done from a bar anywhere
in town took precedence and would pre-empt them. Back when 1250 was an ESPN O&O
they would at least make arrangements to shift the game to some other station if there
was a conflict between playoff baseball and these Steeler talking head shows.

Fred- I wound up catching the World Series on KMOX in Pittsburgh.

When I did hear the ESPN broadcasts I enjoyed it. But I also loved listening to the familiar voice of Mike Shannon.
