Its a shame that ESPN radio won't get a full 24/7 clearance in Philadelphia. Greater Media blew a big opportunity of putting ESPN 24/7 on 950 and made a misstate of simulcasting 97.5 on 950 AM.

I admit, this was the wrong thing to do for GM, selling WPEN-AM because there goes my dream of having ESPN radio on 24/7 in Philadelphia proper for people to hear.Bill_W said:I actually agree with this. Greater Media could have cleared all the ESPN programming on 950 and used 950 as well for overflow play by play or nework non-Philly play by play and then they could have put a local morning show on.
But, is GM protecting P&S on WMMR and JDB on WMGK by not having a 3rd local show on one of their stations in the morning?

Berman calls the game as a fan of baseball, not as an observer of baseball. I've actually enjoyed his coverage.
I had commented elsewhere (in the mid-50s mail topic) about the value of ESPN streaming of the games.
And I believe all ESPN Radio content except pbp coverage can be streamed directly from ESPN as well as from numerous stations that offer their own streaming. The Tunein App and website are especially helpful for this.
