Show will take place in January 2020

ESPN Radio is expanding the First Take franchise to radio as it will debut “First Take, Your Take with Jason Fitz” in the 1-3pm weekday slot starting Monday, January 20.

Fitz has been hosting the “First and Last” show from 5-6am and contributing to “Golic & Wingo” since May and previously hosted early evenings on ESPN Radio. The new 1-3pm show will replace Stephen A. Smith in the timeslot and be simulcast on ESPNEWS.

Smith will be an occassional contributor to the new show, which will take Smith and Max Kellerman’s debates from First Take and add other experts and callers to continue those discussions.

He is not 'losing' his show. Smith signed a new contract last month and part of it was not doing radio. He was frequently missing from the show anyways.

Thanks, I must have missed that news. I thought he was good on radio, but I can see how TV would always come first with him.
