ESPN Radio

Does anyone listen to Mike & Mike in the
Mornings? I've been listening since ESPN's
Cincinnati affiliate (1450) fired it's morning team
(thank GOD!)and they are actually very funny!
I know they are syndicated, but I like them
a heck of a lot better than the angry guys.

They are a refreshing change in the morning. I like Dan Patrick too. I don't like that Keith Olberman will be on with him every day now. Can't stand Olberman. It's good to have another option, but sometimes 1410 WING in Dayton comes in better than WMOH.

They also have great guests and analysts, thanks to their ESPN connections. The weekly Monday morning segment with Dick Vitale (from 7:20-7:35) is a "must hear" for serious sports fans.

Mike and Mike also have really good chemistry, which the Angry Guys don't have. For example, Mike and Mike let each other finish a sentence without interrupting! The Angry Guys bounce around too much and keep cutting each other off. If that is by design, then they need to change their act.

But....

....the Angry Guys are LOCAL. When I need my fix of Bengals talk first thing Monday morning I can count on 1360 HOMER (in between the ridiculously excessive amounts of commercials and clutter of course). Mike and Mike are good, but nothing beats local sports programming, especially during football season. And besides, I like the Angries.

LOCAL isn't always good when LOCAL is stupid. I believe
the angry guys are stupid, especially when they are talking
all over each other. 1450 ESPN had a local show on before
Mike & Mike, and believe me, it was the worst radio I've
ever had to endure. Mike and Mike are MUCH better than the
clown they had on before.

You're opinion. I happen to think they're pretty funny. For me local is always preferable when they're talking about my local team.

Then why did you listen?

i have no idea why the Angries are on the radio. they are, by far, the worst duo i have ever heard.

when i relocated here from the chicagoland area 2.5 yrs ago, i tuned in my first day to hear what cincy had to offer. i grew up on the great WLS, WMAQ, and all the chicago radio legends. chicago has a lot of good talk.

when i tuned into 1360, i thought i was listening to a skit put on by two local sports-bums...like two guys at a bar. one guy saying "c'mon" like it's 1984, and the other with the voice of a 14 yr old boy. after i flipped around to the other stations, disappointment following me at every instance, i tuned back to 1360. still there. "oh God," i thought. surely this isn't a show?!?!?

since then i've had some pals back home tune in via the net, and the 2 Angry Bunnies (as we call them) are a common reference for slowing-down-at-the-scene-of-an-accident radio.

i tried to start a petition several times on a few forums to get them removed, but it didn't get traction. i haven't listened in a while. i've learned to drive either to music or silence.
