ESPN, Rome coming to Boston?

Well, ESPN for sure. Perhaps this is Rome's "big affiliate announcement"

http://www.boston.com/sports/other_.../24/series_is_a_net_gain_for_the_usta/?page=2

The article mentions the full lineup including Sham Hatrick, so probably Rome gets delayed. There's also talk of Ed Berliner being tapped to do a local show - interesting that he will interview the station manager on his cable show this week.

Boston, Howd'ya like them apples? EHHHHHHH!!!!
______________

It's on right now

They are doing a "soft launch" tonight, indeed, with Cubs-Cards from ESPN and promos about Dan Patrick,, etc. I was driving through the area and sure enough they're on now as ESPN 890 (and 1400 in Lowell/Lawrence)

What time is Patrick supposed to be on according to the promos? Someone in the Boston board said 2pm - which maybe meand Rome gets 12-2 and Patrick 2-4.
______________

Re: It's on right now

The Boston Globe bit about the debut of ESPN 890 in Boston (yesterday's paper--
they made their debut at night with Cubs-Cardinals) says:

Mike and Mike in the morning (6-10 a.m.), Colin Cowherd (10 a.m.-1 p.m.), Dan Patrick (1-4 p.m.), ''Sports Bash" (4-7 p.m.) and Game Night from 7 p.m.-1 a.m.

BUT I was listening to a promo and it sounds like it's Mike and Mike till 10;
Cowherd 10-noon, JIM ROME (syndie by Premiere) noon-2, and Dan Patrick starting at 2.

Re: It's on right now

Rome and Clear Channel are desperate for big market exposure. He's tried to make it in Chicago and New York using the ESPN card..but he's failed in both cities. Why would Boston be a big deal? Nobody in that part of the country cares about that West Coast punk-ass mentality of Rome's. Eventually, even Rome's robot clones in So Cal and the other Rome strength areas grow up, get jobs, and move away from that limited appeal/self important garbage.

Re: It's on right now

Rome's had a shitty timeslot in NYC. And Rome actually does quite well in Providence and gets a few regular callers. I don't see him bombing in Boston, for the sole reason that everyone will love to hate him.

Uh, gee, I think that's everyone's objective.

Nice to see that you represent so many people. There's more'punk-ass mentality in your post, than on the whole west coast.

I guess that at 46, I'd better start growing up and get a job, huh?
Pepole listen to Rome because he's funny, entertaining, well prepared, and does better interviews than anyone. I'm sure you deny that people other than 'robots' listen to Limbaugh too.
