ESPN SportsCenter LIVE at 9AM

1) What took them so long to finally do this?

2) Those spots, with the intern walking around various places carrying a countdown clock...I was skeptical at first that those were really "live", but that countdown clock is perfectly synchronized (consistently within 2 seconds of its target, which accounts for satellite lag). I can't imagine what their production costs are for those 15-second spots that air live all day long.

I forget where I read it, but I think the guy in those promos is actually an executive of some sort. Not a senior exec, obviously, but I think he's in ESPNs own marketing department.

Not that it makes the new live SportsCenter any more intriguing or anything like that... :D
