Eubanks and Edwards their last Rose Parade for 2016.

I am a big Bob Eubanks fan and have enjoyed his work for years. The Rose Parade.....not so much. It is because the narrative, no matter who is doing it, seems always to be so stiffly scripted and poorly aligned with what the video is showing. And really, how many marching bands can one observe with any sort of enthusiasm? I understand the original reason for the Rose Parade was to show off the nice weather in Pasadena when the majority of the nation was freezing their oysters off but now that seems so 1930. For a couple of bucks almost anyone can fly from Jasper Junction to SoCal to enjoy the smog-filled skies and jam packed traffic. Why anyone would do so is another question entirely.

Kudos to Big Bob though but alas, I will probably pass on his fond farewell. Perhaps catch it on YouTube later, Dude.

It's not exclusive, so it's not just a KTLA deal any more. ABC is the official network broadcaster, but NBC, Univision, and several other cable channels do their own broadcast. When you can see the same parade, the same floats, the same bands, and the same weather on a bunch of stations, it's not all that special anymore.

It was announced this morning on the KTLA Morning News that the 2017 Rose Parade will be hosted by former Entertainment Tonight anchors Leeza Gibbons and Mark Steines.

The parade needs a younger hipper vibe. I think they need to get even younger hosts for the parade to make edgy and relate to the youth today. How about one of them Kardashians or Niki Minaj or Justin Beiber?

Bieber edgy?

Immature, maybe. Edgy, never.

And the Kardashians can't successfully assemble a bunch of words into a sentence, let alone do narration or color for a parade.
