If you are a straight up old skool head....the lead singer and the primary writer of Chi-town's own the Chi-Lites, Eugene Record, has passed over the weekend from cancer. If you remember songs like "Oh Girl", "Toby", "(For God's Sake) Give More Power To The People", "A Letter To Myself" and "Have You Seen Her", you know what I am talking about. He will be missed.
 
Yes I definitely remember the Chi-Lites. Very sad. He will indeed be missed.
 
Old School for life. Eugene was one of the only members since he formed the group back in the late 50s. They were called the Hi-Lites. Eugene's vision always found talented people. What a great songwriter and great voice representing the Chicago R&B scene. What a shame, he was a wonderful guy.
