Euless dumps Arbor Daze

Just saw on TV tonight where Euless has dumped this annual event. Infinity practically owned it, selling vast numbers of sponsorships and promoting the crap out of it on all their stations. I think it was KLUV (under Tenaglia ownership) that started this event back in 1988 or so, and when Infinity came along, they added "KVIL Night," "The Oasis Night," etc. Euless officials complained that they lost so much money when most of the event got rained out in 2004 (remember, that's the year they gave Wild 100 a "night" of its own, and, like most things that revolved around Wild, it failed miserably, albeit due to the rain.)

The city complained about spending some $900,000 on the event every year. HOW? Did their deal with Infinity not include a cut of the sponsorships? Did Kurt and Dave drink up all the profits in the VIP tent? Didn't vendors pay for space at the little flea market set up nearby? Sounds more like mismanagement to me, let alone planning such an event right in the middle of the rainy season. They're lucky that it was only rained out once in all those years.

Sounds about par for course at Infinity, nothing new for that lot. Its sad really, Arbor Daze was a decent festival that was mismanaged by both the city and their corporate sponsors

It explains why KLUV is promoting a concert with Peter Noone( Herman's Hermits) and Randy Bachman( BTO,Guess Who)in Grand Prairie. That will really pack them in.:)

Euless and Mr. Murrow have something in common. They both are called USELESS.

I think Euless could have saved quite a bit of money by using a pair of Sandi Sharpe's pants as a tent.
