Evaluating Old Records

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

I'm looking for a reputable dealer on Long Island who could go through and value an old record collection I recently acquired.
Any suggestions, and thanks.

I can tell you who to avoid. Whirlin Disc.

You can usually look up the value of such things online if you search thru Google.

OMG are they still around? I remember those commercials from back in what must have been the late '70s.

Whirlin' Whirlin' Whirlin' disc. (To a 50's Doo Wop sound).

Second. Back in 1989, I needed a copy of an out of print Jermaine Jackson LP for an upcoming wedding. It had "If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful" on it. Whirlin' had it and he offered me three options. First, a sealed copy for $50. Second, a used copy for $25 and third, he'll tape it for me for $15. I took the first option and was satisfied with my purchase as I hadn't been able to locate the LP through conventional means. Flash forward about 6 months later and I received my monthly BMG Record Club mailer, which had a list of Clearance LP's. Guess what was on there? For only $1.99!!! I bought copies for all of my DJ's.

Sorry to have been out of the vinyl loop so long; my daughter refuses to let me part with any of my treasures, but isn't Goldmine stil available in some format? How about a browse on eBay, especially if you want to get rid of some but not all of your vinyl. Just a suggestion.

Vinyl sells for a good price on Amazon.com, I can tell you that....
The vinyl niche market is actually growing at the moment, unlike most other music convenyance formats..

No body likes that guy......I dont understand how he stays in operation, I would NEVER think of going there......He wanted money for a Jermaine Jackson album??? HOLY S***!!! He should have paid you to remove it from the store. I was after a Slade album/cd years ago, an I passed there and went in, that guy went on how this cd was rare and imported and was unavilable anywhere......Thats why it was 65 dollars....NAHHHHHHHHH
I went to Looney Tunes in West Babylon, they had 6 copies! 12.99

They're about to reopen!!

I guess it all comes down to "How Bad Do You Want It?" (A great song by Don Henley, BTW!)
