Update is good.. We did not have much at home until the past few years...
88.7 was the frequency my former father-in-law and I had for Morganfield, KY... We had a verbal to get an upgrade by having a deal with "Thy Word" to directionalize WBHW in Loogootee, but we sold it to the local Catholic when my ex and I broke up... Glad they are on.. They are running on a tin can set up.. The mono signal would hit Evansville better with a small investment..
91.1/WVUB has the long running and popular "Missing Link" with Dave Engstrum on Sunday Evenings for two hours 7 to 9 Vincennes time... He's still there, long after Toby Hancock and I gave up our "Rock Of Ages" in 1987 for me and early 90's for Toby and his "Connection" (after moving from 106.5 to 92.1 and I was on 96.7 and then 106.5)...
91.9 was fun to help get on. Way backed out three days prior to signing papers to buy WYNG back a few years ago (Regent, now Townsquare)....So, Regent went and sold 94.9 to Withers.. Way would love to get a hold of an AM cheap in the market to go non-com and increase the ERP on the new translator rule with this FM.. At 700 to 800 up on Channel 44's tower, it's very good for a 10 watter! They wish they could be 'local'...They also have the improved 91.3 in Owensboro, KY... Moved to a more central TX site... If Evansville could get that AM for the holder of live programming/local content, then Owensboro would probably take the terrestrial feed from 91.9 in Henderson...
91.5 WUEV has a Sunday CHR/Rock Christian Show...
95.3 K-Love is tied for 5th in the market with NO LOCAL stuff.. That's how well they do.... And that's without taking shares from other powerhouses.. Created by new listening and more time spent listening being reported... What if they had one person local and were on the street? I think they'd get more support.
96.9 "The Wire" (WYIR)...Never claimed to be all Christian music and never had 100% Christian CHR/ALT/ROCK.. I know... I programmed it..... I built it and still have a position on the parent board (Youth Inc.).. I called it "THEOCRATIC".... Discussional and common thought of Christian and non-Christian listeners who go through the same daily problems in this culture... Seed planting.. Liptmus tested songs.. Venue at the Wired Coffee Shop (now open in the big new location on 4th in downtown Evansville)... Neat thing and solid support in the youth-young adult community.. Though the co-channel inversion from WDDJ in Paducah is a pain, most listen on social media and online.... The on-air is the credibility and there is some thought of seeing (with the latest data), if we can move to a better frequency.. I got it spaced tight to get it on, when we did...
101.5 "Thy Word" has a nice market network.. 101.5 with teaching, inspo, light ac Christian format.. Floyd and the gang are the most straight up Christian people you could associate with.. Most listening looks to be in the 35 and up range.. Quality signal and accountability.. Took 101.5 to a non-commerical status to keep from being tempted to 'take the money and run'... Kuddos of "YES" to my friends, there... WBHW/88.7 Loogootee and WBJW/91.7 Albion (IL).....
104.1/WIKY... I really miss doing the "Joyful Noise" on Sunday AM slot, but Jim Wood (Yes, the old 1280/The River City Rocker Top-40 PD) has two shows syndicated out of Nashville that have filled the void of the local loud mouth (ME)..... Oh, well? I am producing two Syndicated shows (music and talk-call in) at Xtreme Radio Network (
www.xtrlive.com)... Those shows run 6:am to 10:am (Praise the first two hours and CCM the second two hours)...
90.1 is just too directional and at least hits most of Posey and parts of White and Edwards, Wabash, lower Gibson counties..
