Even He Doesn't Listen

As a public service, Nurse Jeff and I present reason #27 Russ Hill spends too much time blogging and not enough listening to KT'R-FM:

4/4/07 1:20pm (voiceover guy) Because there's so much more to life than politics...back to Pat McBland on News 92~Three

(audio clip of obscure Charley Pride cover song Snow Flake)

Today's guest...Congressman Jeff Flake and guess what? They're talkin' politics!

To prove our point Russ doesn't listen to his own station, the Nurse and I will be citing other examples in the coming days. Meanwhile, feel free to join in!

Shux, when I saw the headline I thought you were talking about the Battaglias and the infomercials on KFNX :D

I heard what seemed to be very long commercial for Fort McDowell Casino this morning on KT'R FM--

I didn't think Casinos were permitted to advertise on Bonneville owned stations, because of their core values or something.

Is this correct??

I understand that with the Suns and Diamondback contracts they probably can't screen all of the Advertising (alcohol, gambling, etc.), but this seemed like just a regular ad. What gives?? :-[

They don't seem to be too hard-core when it comes to advertising on their mainstream/secular stations. They're out for a buck just as much as any other broadcaster. KSL may be the exception, but I don't think stations like KTAR and WTOP are.

I haven't listened too much to D'backs or Suns radio broadcasts recently, but when the Cards were on TMISU-owned 96.9 & 740 in 1996, they allowed beer ads on the FM but not on the Radio Aahs-formatted AM. They just didn't want alcohol ads on a station that catered to kids.
