Even WJZZ is Playing Mariah

How many different stations are playing "We Belong Together?" It's another "Hey Ya" in terms of its appeal across so many formats. "We Belong Together" is a nice song. It's kind of one continuous hook, which makes it seductive to CHR lovers. But it's not exactly a great piece of music.

If the song is top 5 on AC, Hot AC, Pop CHR, Rhythmic CHR, Urban and Urban AC, somebody must think it's a great piece of music.

I guess you're right, and everybody else is wrong.

I've heard "We Belong Together" on Star, the Beat, Jamz, Q100, V-103, Hot 107.9 and Jazz. It's possible Delilah might have played it on Lite.

You mean like how you keep saying "Neal Boortz isn't entertaining" when he has a 14 share?

By the way, that show is one TIGHT joint as well. Do you agree? What factors determine the tightness of a joint?

When will B98.5 start playing it? and Other notes

Question now is when WSB-FM/B98.5 will start playing the song. Other Cox AC's are starting to play it. Cox usually gold-tests (researches) the songs to see how they do. I can say "We Belong Together" has very much surpassed any test in performance anybody can give it.

Since WLTM/94.9 Lite migrated to gold-based AC in May with the discontinuance of Cool 105.7, I doubt they will play it. However, Lite is playing Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway", so Lite might give it a shot.

It is surpising that WJZZ's playing it. Their playlist is half smooth jazz, and half AC. I would not be surprised if WJZZ flipped to AC, which if done right, could have a remote possibility of knocking Lite or B98.5 out of the picture (but WJZZ has a poorer signal, 25 kW compared to Lite's 99 kW and B98.5's 100kW.)

Lite is playing it overnights. Kiss has spun it 23 times in 12 weeks

I can't say either Lite or Kiss are giving it a lot of spins, but on top of the seven other stations (Star, Beat, Jamz, Q100, V-103, Jazz, Hot), that means at least nine stations have played "We Belong Together." Over the past 12 weeks, Kiss has spun it 23 times, Lite, 30 times, as part of its overnight current rotation. (I have temporary access again to Mediabase 24/7). B98.5 has only made one change since I wrote my Jack story in June, as noted in an earlier post: "Listen to Your Heart" by DHT. That's it. But "We Belong Together" certainly could be added to B98.5, perhaps this winter.

Boortz has a 14 share because there are many people who share his Neo-Nazi viewpoints. These people listen because they want somebody to validate their extreme views.

When Hitler spoke at the Reichstag in 1933, he had many, many supporters who cheered for him. I suspect if he had a radio show in Berlin, Hitler would've had a 90 share. That wouldn't mean his extremist rants are "entertaining."

Re: That joint is tight

Yes..."Boortz is a Neo-Nazi". Uh-huh.

You are very entertaining....like watching a mental patient screaming on a street corner.
