I am working out in the Westchase district today (Westheimer and BW8), and as usual, I was roaming the FM dial. Not sure if this is a pirate, LPFM, or what...but there is an open carrier on 101.5 that is crystal clear. No static, no interference, and in full stereo. I guess I'm about 10-15 mins. from the Mo. City sticks, but can't imagine the signal originating from there. Does anyone know what this is. There is no programming whatsoever, just clear silence. From whatever part of town your in...would you check the frequency and let's see where this thing is coming from?

Thanks,

Checked again...

...and it's still there. Went all the way down to Lowe's at Westheimer and Dairy Ashford, and then to Home Depot at BW8 and Bellaire Blvd. The signal is there the whole way. (how boring am I to listen to dead air?) The signal kind of went in and out as I progressed south on BW8, so I assume that it's either a LPFM testing, or a pirate broadcasting silence in stereo.
______________

I listen to what I like.

Sounds to me like one of those ipod or xm radio transmitters that is hooked up to a low antenna that is just dead air. It could also be a traffic or tourist info transmitter that is just testing for now.
______________

Cant be a LPFM...no where one could get licensed that close to 101.1....
wonder if it could have been the 101.5 on Crystal Beach (that simulcast KAYD 101.7 out of BMT) with enhanced propogation and they lost the T1 to the site??
Thats the only 101.5 I know of in the area..Could be a pirate but not a LPFM..
