EVERYONE GONE

Sorry, should've been more clear. If you listen to 945 - you will notice it's now satellite. Satellite jocks, music is satellite. Drake, E, Ike B - all of the Channel staff has been pulled. Website has not been updated. These new satellite jocks aren't BAD but it's not local. They have callers but I don't have a number.

Called Premium Choice I found out. Right now Sisanie is on and she has callers, shoutouts and everything that Channel needs but I don't know if her calls are from KIIS and Channel 933. She gives times but who knows if it's tracked or what.

I thought Premium Choice would be voice tracks but music still played locally. B-Man from WTUE is one of the Classic Rock Premium Choice guys. i wasn't ware they actually wee distributing this by satellite.

Nope, it's music too. Listen to the tracks, they announce the songs. Plus, there's also different versions of the songs now than was originally played on 945.

Also to note - there is nothing playing on WDKF-HD2. Anyone know what the plan is? WLQT HD2 was to pick up 106.5's smooth jazz format, but as of now they are still playing oldies tunes.

Nope. Corporate took over WDKF. When they all were canned, they left the building. Which means no one to program HD2. I'm sure within weeks, something will happen!

CC Dayton is a mess right now.

The reason you may hear other song versions now is because to have voice tracking work you must have the same songs as the station voicetracking you or the tracks wont play / segue correctly.

I would think with Nexgen, WDKF's music is still running local.

You're both right and wrong.

From what I've been told, and heard with my ears, NexGen is still running music/sweepers/spots/vtracks locally at the studio, but the music and tracks log comes from "premium choice"...music is identical on several CHR stations, check Mediabase tomorrow, it'll reflect that.

They just can't stop trying to kill radio, can they? A stations identity is now pointless, if some corporate guy is programming the playlist. It's the same across the country. Sirius/XM has come to FM.
Shoot me.

i listened to their webstream earler..It didn't sound like a typical satellite feed (Dial Global, ABC, watts.. )

It's def nexgen running 'WAN'ed to them' voice tracks/music logs from another source.

It sounds like the ryan seacrest voice tracks I hear up here in Columbus on WNCI... song ends, track plays, then a imager plays into the next song... only thing diff is the voicetracked DJ on premium choice backsells the songs..and intros one here and there.. (and with some VT's...) that's all they do!.

Everyone used to complain when jocks would voicetrack from other markets but still try to have some semblance of being local, these trackers are completely generic.

This makes me miss the "good ol' days" of voicetracking! At least they made an attempt to sound local.

I hear there still will be traditional voicetracking at CC - IF there's the $$ for it and it's approved. Otherwise you're either live or premium choice.

Is CC still on for an August bankruptcy? Boys and girls-- save your pennies and nickels now cause you may be able to pick up some good deals when CC goes tumbling under!

Are we forgetting something? 94.5 dumped their local talent and 106.5 flipped. Why? Remember, these stations are getting sold off eventually, and are in the Aloha Trust. They might as well cut the staff loose because these stations will be sold off soon anyway.

The entire staff is still there. Premium Choice is everywhere. From what I know, they are just weathering the storm. Channel sounds awful though, but hey, at least it's still there. I mean who in their right mind would buy a radio station right now??

I'm hearing that Choice is being used in Lexington, KY exclusively on 104.5 the Cat as well nights on KISS 107 in Cincinnati.
