Top 40 dominates in most other markets. KIIS is #1 in LA, KRBE #5 in Houston and KHKS, so on...
Citing 5 or 6 different station and saying all of these together are a CHR doesn't cut it.
SF should have a hit music station. Leaning rhythmic with emphasis on the pop hits--Kelly Clarkson, Akon, Usher, Destiny's Child, Killers, Will Smith, Black Eyed Peas, Yin Yang Twins.
You may see this list and say "yuck," but then again you'd probably not fit the target demo for this format.
This is what young females want to hear. Playing to them makes these stations highly profitable and successful.
