Evine shopping network rebrands as ShopHQ

The Evine shopping network has rebranded as ShopHQ, the name the network used from 2013 until 2015 after NBC sold the network which at that time was ShopNBC. The new corporate name of the company is iMedia Brands Inc. and The Invicta Watch company, which was already a major vendor on the network invested $6 million into the new company.

This makes the fifth time that this network has rebranded.

Evine had a nice ring to it though.

How much money does that station pull in. It looks like it's broadcasting out of a broom closet.

Last time I drove past the buildings, there were 3 of them. Not much to look at from the outside, and I am unsure if they film out of Eden Prairie or not.

I think that's the issue. Looks like they lose a small amount of money on about 300 million in total revenue. Since HSN and QVC, the two biggest players, are now owned by one company, it must be hard to compete.

NBC never owned the network outright, they purchased a share of the network and rebranded to ShopNBC. Once Comcast bought NBC, the shopping channel was no longer a priority for them, so they sold their stake back to ValueVision, likely due to low profits and the business model of paying providers for carriage (which is not the business model that Comcast usually employs). This would have meant Comcast would have made money from ShopNBC in carriage fees, but would have had to pay competitors for carriage.

NBC originally stated they would sell the share of the network they owned, but a few months later changed their mind, before ValueVision bought the share back 3 years later. I can see the value in being able to use the name "NBC" but having board members that are part of a company that has no interest in you can be pretty limiting.

Are their studios in the same area as QVC in CT?

This is the second time that this network has been branded as ShopHQ; the first time from 2013-2015 (styled as SHQP). Previous rebrandings were ValueVision (1991-2000), ShopNBC (2000-2013), and Evine from 2015 until August 21st (Evine Live from 2015 until 2016).
