Evolution 101.7 Billboard....in Fall River!

While I was visiting the area I couldn't help but notice the Evolution 101.7 billboard on I-195 westbound, near the exit for Rt 24 going to Newport.

I thought it was rather strange to see that billboard there considering that Fall River is 55 miles away from Boston and the over the air signal comes nowhere close to it. I suppose you have your commuters heading to work in Boston that CC would want to catch along with the smartphone users tuning In via iHeartRadio. But even that, maybe they should have picked an area before the Rt. 24 North exit??

Doesn't a Clear Channel subsidiary own a billboard firm? Maybe it's just corporate freebie, like a promo for a CBS-owned radio station on WBZ-TV.

Clear Channel does have a billboard "arm". And it could have been a freebie.

I just thought it was odd that the Evolution 101.7 ad was placed so far south of the signal coverage since WEDX basically covers within and just near Rt. 128. I did see a billboard ad for JAM'N 94.5, not far from the Evolution ad. But at least you can pull in 94.5 down there (though on the fringes).

Or it could be that the person placing the ads has no idea of the station's coverage, perhaps it's someone not even in the Boston area.
