Evolution Los angeles, now on.....

KIIS HD2. Looks like they are using the Evolution stream off of Iheart radio. So far I'm liking the music they are playing. Even though Club KIIS was good too. ;D

Remember the dance/disco format that KIIS-FM had in 1979-80? I have several of their "Disco 20" surveys. The new channel, officially known as Evolution@KIIS-HD2, is also simulcast on XM Satellite Radio Channel 11.

Basically this is a relaunch of the channel. Back in late June 2012, Club KIIS launched on the channel running iHeart's Club Phusion programming (possibly with local flavor mixed in by Sisanie).
See thread at that time linked here.

Club Phusion no longer exists - there may be iheart "stations" that are closer in theme to what the "poppier" Club Phusion played than what its replacement "Evolution" is playing, which slants more to the serious, hardcore EDM side.
This is the same format that's on Evolution 101.7 in Boston.

Where are you getting this? XM channel 11 is still regular KIIS-FM when I just checked.

I read that on another radio news site and it was obviously wrong...unless Rihanna and Maroon 5 are now considered to be electronic dance artists. :-\

Sounds like a good move for KIIS. Only time will tell if this will make a bigger impact on EDM in Los Angeles.

I'm not sure of the effective penetration of the KIIS HD sidechannels. Since KIIS is at relatively low power on Mt Wilson, the HD power is miniscule. It would be interesting were any board members with HD radios in OC or on the West Side or in the west-of-the-405 area of The Valley would check how it comes in.

Here in the SGV/IE, I lose KIIS HD2 somewhere right between Claremont and Upland on the 210. KRTH seems to have the best HD out of the LA stations.

Bummer, I was hoping you had a good source. I'd rather hear Evolution on XM then KIIS-FM. O wells ...
