Evolution of KMXV/Kansas City

KMXV in Kansas City about three years ago had much more of an Adult Top 40 sound than it does today; it played artists like Better than Ezra, Matchbox 20, Blue October, Sheryl Crow and John Mayer much more regularly in their playlist. It "kinda" had that sound for two more years while adding much more rhythmic content (which a lot of used to be relegated to nighttime) before completely going down the center CHR. Have you noticed this?

Yes it has changed. I have to give Ponch credit for updating the playlist. When I lived in KC from 98-06 it was way different compared to now. I perfer KCHZ and KLZR during that time. It's the only Top 40 station that I know that still airs Rick Dees Top 40. I havent listen to their mix shows since Dj Kirby left for KZPT. The only thing that has really changed is their Red White and Boom concert's in July. They use to bring in big acts but that was under CBS. Now that Wilks is running the show its not the same.

It may have mainstreamed a little bit, but it still leans adult during the daytime. Earlier this year, I heard them still playing Michael Buble "Haven't Met You Yet" and Colbie Caillat "I Never Told You". A regular feature I enjoy each afternoon is when Dave O. plays a random old song from say the 90s or early 2000s that is usually not played.

Anymore it seems incredibly down-the-center, even during the daytime.
