I'm just outside of Nashville, TN and I operate a Part 15 station on 1410 AM during the day and make way for other stations at night, and it's usually a rotation of stations.
After a little research, I've picked up the ESPN Radio affiliate out of Dayton, Ohio as well as an mom & pop station out of eastern Kentucky that gets an AC format from "off the bird" as one of my old Comm professors would say. The latest confirmed DX pull of mine after I sign off and power down is EWTN Radio, but they have two affiliates that use 1410.
One is in the Springfield, Illinois market and the other is in Mobile, Alabama. The Springfield station has day power of 1,000 watts and night power of 63 watts. The Mobile station has 5,000 watts during the day and 4,600 at night.
I have two questions:
1. My usual sign off is between 5 PM and 6 PM (Central Time) each day. Am I picking up the Springfield station before they power down or am I picking up the Mobile station with it already on its night pattern?
2. My usual sign on is between 7 AM and 9 AM (Central Time) each day. Sometimes one of those two EWTN stations is faintly audible before I sign on. Which of the day patterns am I picking up?
