EWWWWWWW The X ssounds bad!

Allrighty I know WXRX is running the buzzsaw now, but boy they sound distorted to me. Was listening to them the other day and the processing is really choppy and when the mic is cracked everybody sounds like they are talking through a busted speaker... I know my ears are not that bad or is it?

Absolutely horrible sounding. I just checked and it sounds like they are feeding their audio through a guitar distortion pedal.
What's going on over there? Engineer on vacation?

I bet they are on some kind of backup processing, or studio switch for remodeling.

I am not sure what they are running or how their processing is set up, but it is brutal listening to it... Dunno if it is how their audio files are converted or processing, but it is just bad bad bad sounding... CC1

Hey CC1, I listened today, could not tell so much from the norm with the music. New Rock is always over processed to begin with. Jock Voice FX sounded a bit off.

I know a lot of music is already hyper compressed, but something is just not right with the way things sound and I also noticed that some of the songs were ripped in mono which really sounded bad... Maybe I am old fashioned, but to me good audio is the key to a good sounding station, but today's radio world must not share that same view...

CC,

Thanks for calling us out on the processing. Our engineer is on it! Don't know what happened...but you and everyone on this thread are right - good stations have great processing. We've invested a lot recently in all of our stations processing and we want it to sound great. Please keep me posted on how you think we sound. you can always email me at the station at [email protected]
