Ex-WBOS DJ Holly Harris launches Blues webcast/podcast

Holly Harris, who was among the airstaff let go when WBOS recently changed format, had hosted "Blues On Sunday" there for over fifteen years. Her blues programming had also been previously heard in the Boston area on WGBH (as the substitute for the late and sorely missed Mai Cramer), the old WCGY 93.7, and her start over 20 years ago on Tufts University's WMFO.

Holly told me a few weeks ago that she was planning to launch a blues webcast/podcast, and here it is on UltimateBlues.com!

Congratulations to Holly for making this happen. I'm sure it's still practically impossible (for the time being) to make much, if any, money on webcasting, so this is really a dedicated "labor of love" from her for the music and for her audience. (Fortunately, Holly works at a non-broadcasting job during the week).

Was a big fan of the show while I lived in town....continued to listen to the stream when I left.. I will be tuning in for this. Good news for Blues!

Yes, I had emailed her saying she could do the Juke Joint on WMWM once in awhile--she thanked
me for the offer but said she was already working on a podcast. Still hope she gets on broadcast radio.
