Excited! (Gospel Music Channel Is On Direct TV)

For those that have Direct TV, you can now see Gospel Music Channel, on Channel 338. Just discovered it, during the 8 P.M. hour.

Came in from Church and was surfing the dial and discovered it. Glad that Direct TV is now carrying this network.

Some of its contents may not appeal to me but I'm glad it's there. Hope this channel will do well on Direct TV.

We've thoroughly enjoyed GMC on Verizon FIOS since dumping Cablevision. I like the "old school MTV" feel of music from all over the place, yet the daily/nightly schedule allowing you to tune in to your favorite genres. Some videos are a bit contrived (or maybe I'm getting old), but the live performances I've seen have been quite impressive. Good job, Jerry Williams.

Off on a TV tangent, FIOS has the same Music Choice CCM and Gospel channels that Cablevision has, along with Urge Radio Praise, and around a dozen Religious channels (ranging from kids' programs like "Bibleman" to Harold Camping). Still much better than Cablevision, with faster upload and download internet speeds to help send out my voicework.

I usually watch it on Thursday-Saturday. I have it as part of my digital package on the cable system here.

Not a big fan of the Kitchen Sink, however I do like Front Row live and the countdowns that they do from guest artists though.

I do enjoy the GMC "Kitchen Sink" - I think it's good to have at least one channel with a wider variety of videos.

My wife and I found it, too. We had that particular channel (338) blocked out previously because there was nothing on it. It still was blocked, but we keyed the channel number in manually and there was the Gospel Music Channel (I thought if a channel was blank on Direct TV and you had it blocked, that once it had programming put on it, it would "resurface" when you scan the channels, but for some reason it didn't). We sort of found it by accident. My in-laws have charter cable and they had GMC, but I think they've yanked the channel off of there recently. My wife was telling her sister (who also has Direct TV) about how charter no longer carried it, and she told my wife Direct TV added the channel a few days ago. ;D

This is the second go around for GMC on Direct TV. It was on for a while in late 2006 early 2007, then it went away. I hope it can stick now. I'm glad its all things to all people.

GMC is on Charter cable in Jackson, TN in the digital package. I agree that it's good that they manage to carry all styles of Christian music and don't use the "Block programming doesn't work" cop out that some Christian stations use as an excuse to not do anything with CCM.
