Exitcom

And I forgot about Amy G. as a GM at Entercom/Seattle.

So add one more name to the list:

1. G. Michael Donovan (fired)
2. Dick Carlson (fired)
3. Steve Oshin (fired)
4. Ken Beck (demoted)
5. Kevin McCarthy (fired)
6. Melissa Forest (left)
7. Amy Greisheimer (transferred)
8. Dave Pridemore (demoted)
9. Jerry Mckenna (fired)
10. Steve Oshin (2nd time) (fired, 2nd time)
11. Jack Hutchinson (give it time)

So, 11 GM's in 10 years. Nice consistency.

And stockholders wonder why prices have tanked. Sure...blame it on the economy.

In a related note, KMTT has suddenly canned their PD, Kevin Welch.

The company has had 11 GM's in 10 years in Seattle. Anyone have any idea how many PD's they've had in 10 years?!? I've got to believe the number is considerably higher than 11.

Wow. You really think that?

I'll start the list...but I don't know all the names/timeframes:

1. Jay Kelly, KBSG
2. Jay Coffey, KGSB
3. Chris Mays, KMTT
4. Shawn Stewart, KMTT
5. Kevin Welch, KMTT
6. Phil Manning, KNDD
7. Lazlo, KNDD
8. Tom Clendening, KIRO
9. Ken Berry, KIRO
10. Chris Olinger, KIRO
11. Tom Clendening(2nd time) KIRO

I may be missing some names from those stations. Plus, I've forgotten the PDs at WOLF, KISW.

But, as you can see, GM & PD jobs at Entercom Seattle, have been a revolving door. I can't think of anything more unsettling for employees (and more threatening/unproductive for the GM & PD).

You made it sound like it was 11 Program Directors in 10 years for just KMTT. That's what my reply was to.

I'm not defending Entercom or any of the GMs, but the reason you don't have any program directors listed as being fired for The Wolf and KISW is because those are rather stable stations. Sure, those two stations have needed to adjust, but not as dramatically as the other stations you listed.

The other stations you list have had problems as well. Some of them internal, and some of them trying to adjust to their respective format trend adjustments.

Again, not defending Entercom, but there's more than meets the eye.

As I said in an earlier post, this kind of change indicates real issues. I note that the PD's who have been here over a decade, some over two decades have stable staffs and more important stable ratings and revenue. I said this makes me admire those station PD's who have lasted a long time in the same position. I am thinking of CC at KZOK and Becky B at KMPS. Kent Phillips at KPLZ and Eric Powers at KUBE. They have been in place for over a decade and their stations do very well in revenue and in their respective demos. A look at the Winter 09 book showed KZOK number one 25-54 adults and men and KMPS number two 25-54 women and number two 25-54 adults. KPLZ was number one 25-54 women and KUBE number one 18-34. Says a lot.

Actually, it's not all about the job itself. There's a lot to be said about lifestyle and wanting to settle down here in the Seattle area that appeals to many people. I know that a couple of people you mentioned, along with other key air talent that have had offers out of market, but have decided for personal reasons to stay.
