Expanded Network News Coverage of Earthquake in Haiti

Are there any affiliates not airing the expanded news coverage of the disaster in Haiti?

In the Fort Myers market, CBS affiliate WINK-TV and NBC affiliate WBBH-TV are airing the expanded coverage. ABC affiliate WZVN-TV is not; they went with their local 7 pm newscast.

Well in Fort Meyers it would make sense to. There's a large Haitian immigrant community. A lot of it is centered in Belle Glade, which is covered by West Palm Beach TV, but I lived in Naples, FL and West Palm and just west of Belle Glade where the sugar cane is, you can get WINK very well. It was VHF then, I don't know what it's like now.

In the Mobile-Pensacola TV market, WKRG-TV (CBS), WPMI-TV (NBC), and WEAR-TV (ABC) chose to air local news instead of the second half-hour of their network newscasts this week.

For starters, it's Fort Myers.

There are many Haitian immigrants in Naples, Immokalee and Lehigh Acres. There are also plenty scattered in Fort Myers, as well.

I don't know how far WINK's digital signal travels but it is in VHF (channel 9).
