Extended ASPCA Ads

What's the deal with these extended ASPCA ads? Last Night during both the 9PM and 10PM episode of "Dead Like Me" on Chiller featured extended ads for the ASPCA during their commercial breaks at the bottom of the hour. These ads are like 3 minutes long. They don't feature singing and features Ms. Cardona (I cant remember her first name which is why I put Ms. Cardona) who I believe is some bigwig with the ASPCA. Come to think of it when I watched "Dead Like Me" last Tuesday night the same extended ASPCA ad aired.

I seem to remember there's at least one other version of the marathon-like ASPCA ad featuring Sarah McLaughlin, and an endless montage of the faces of forlorn and desperate looking animals.

I'm not even sure as to whether these are paid ads or just PSA's?

Those are for the Humane Society of the United States, which is actually PETA.
Nothing at all to do with your local Humane Society (and a bit disingenuous, as PETA
does not operate or maintain any animal shelters)

The ultimate irony would be if those ads aired during an episode of "La Femme Nikita" - starring one Peta Wilson... ::)

A bumper sticker I saw recently:

Welcome to the club. :)

Anyone besides me seen the sticker saying "I Love Animals - They're Delicious"?

Honestly you would do much better to donate directly to your local animal shelter than to respond
to these ads. The shelter were we adopted our puppy is always struggling to have enough food and
supplies on hand. I'm sure they'd be grateful for the help.

On the other hand if you send your money to PETA they'll just spend it on lobbying and
buying more TV time. As I said they don't even have any shelters.

Honestly I don't know why the REAL Humane Society has not sued them for scamming the name.

There are a lot of us who are members of that version of PETA that meet at the BUFFET:

Big
Ugly
Fat
Folks
Eating
Together

And yes, I'm guilty! ;D
