They're running the full two-hour WGN Midday News on the national feed today. I suspect they were expecting to have better news to report.

I think today's the day when they announce the host city of the 2016 Olympic Games, in which Chicago is one of the candidates.

Well, yeah...that's what I was alluding to. And of course the "better news" would have been Chicago not getting eliminated in the first round.

Does any one who doesn't live in Chicago really care about whats going on there?

Transplants, or people who just want a change of pace. Or those who live in the sunbelt who get a kick out of the weatherman talking about temperatures warming up into the 30s.

For me, its just more news options..When I had Dish, I enjoyed watching the Denver, LA, Dallas, Boston, Atlanta and New York Local News on occasion..Even now, On Cable Ohio News Network, they run rebroadcasts of the noon news out of Columbus (WBNS) , Cincinnati (WKRC) and Cleveland (WEWS-Which I get locally anyway). I just like knowing whats going on different places.
