External Antenna to SW7600G

I have inherited a Sony ICF-SW7600G. It's a great little radio, but the instructions didn't come with it. I want to hook my longwire to it. but it seems to only accept an external antenna that is "powered" (?). Is there a way to make my longwire antenna work on it?

Nothing beats just trying the longwire on the terminal. You can't possibly hurt anything unless lightning strikes the longwire while you are making the connection.
