has anyone here ever used an external USB soundcard? I just picked up a Soundblaster External USB Mp3+ on ebay today mostly out of curiosity. It says it will do 48khz/16 bit audio through usb 1.1. Thought it might be interesting to have while travelling.

I'd like to hear anyone experiences with this thingies...thanks.

There was a similar question posting on the Engineering board. I highly recommend the card you describe. It's quiet, reliable and performs very well for the money. I use it for serious on-location recording with my laptop and Audition, and I always get excellent results.
