Extra XETRA website

The new owners of XETRA-AM have launched a new website. The station's moniker is "W Radio". (Not for the current president.)

WRadioUSA.com. The station will be based in la LA, with programming from Baja to the "Southland" of la LA.

And as mentioned in another post, "W" is a reference to XEW in Mexico City, the base for "W" and the 250,000 giant from the 30's to the 60's that formed the base for Televisa and the Azcárraga empire. With 50 kw XEWK in Guadalajara, 150 kw XEWA in San Luis Potisi and synchronous relays in Veracruz (900) and Monterrey (540) they were a powerhouse in the drama and soap opera era of radio.

... but they do not communicate. PRISA from spain owns 50% and has th e100% administrastion rights. Televisa decided radio was not a core business and left it all to PRISA.

Radio Fórmula is owned by Rogelio Azcárraga, a cousin of the Televisa family, but they do not get along.
