Have a quick question I thought you pros might have a work-around for.
Let's say I'm in out in the field, sitting at a conference table. My subject is across from me. I have my two mics on those cast iron-type stands. I'm wearing headphones to monitor. I ask my subject to please not use a lot of hand motions while speaking because they may bump the table and create noise in the recording. In fact, I have the same problem and it's not uncommon for me to sit on my hands! Sometimes it may not be a hand motion but someone's knee may just bump the table.
I come back to the office and there's the bumping and knocking throughout the interview. I'm using Audio-Technica ST95MK II mics, wind screens, a 6" shaft going into the base and the adapter that the mic slides into.
Is there something you might suggest I add to or change in my arsenal that will help deaden these noises when someone bumps the table?
Thanks for your tips.
