Extreme Budget Cuts

KXTE music director/production director Homie and overnighter Slater are the most recent CBS/LV budget cuts.
 
Yesterday was a slaughter at CBS Radio in Las Vegas. KXNT's Production director John D. layed off. Casey Freelove, From Freelove & Olsen on Sportsradio 1140 let go. An entire department let go. Promotions director for KXMB Jen D, Let go. Jessica T. Let go. It was a blood bath. Thats the only Ive heard of so far.
 
There are so many things I would love to say...but I'll keep it brief:

I had the HONOR of working with CBS Radio Las Vegas during the better times...and let me tell you its an absolute TRAVESTY what they've done to that cluster. Absolutely no loyalty to a group of people who created and managed the #1 Hot AC, #1 News/Talk and #1 CHR in the market. Absolutely embarrassing what the industry is doing to itself...

Keep that in mind...radio isn't dying...it's committing suicide.

I hope and pray everyone lands safely. Some of the hardest working, most passionate people are getting axed in a down market. What a joke.

I also worked there in good times, and even then, they have no loyalty or sense. they fire really good people, wtith loads of talent for no real reasons. yes, its all about budget cuts now, but they are notorious for blowing people out, blindly. No sense at all over there.
 
When a company such as CBS has a PD like Jack Landreth having the sense of shame was taken out of the equation a long time ago. Loyalty and Jack Landreth go together like oil and water the don't mix. We all know radio is a cut throat business but Jack goes a step further and slices your throat until your head falls off. //Disclaimer: Cut throat and slices your throat until your head falls off is Figurative speech. I am clarifying this for all you dummies who are stupid enough to think I mean it literally//. I also know that Jack is not with EXTREME but the rest of the CBS cluster/ KXNT was been mentioned in this thread.
 
The same thing happened last February and continues to happen in Phoenix (and all over). I'm glad I sold my CBS stock last February at $29 a share. It's under $6 now, and it couldn't happen to a nicer company.
 
I make the comments about the Las Vegas cluster in general. I know CBS Radio as a whole has had several sweeping cuts (all of which have pretty much avoided Vegas until recently). All of the radio companies are in the crapper right now...Cox Radio, Citadel (.20-something cents a share)...pretty much every radio stock has lost at LEAST 50-75% of its value in over the past 4 months. It's scary.
