Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Comming to TV Land in August

Hi everyone:

Agreed. If it belongs anywhere, it belongs on HGTV.

JMHO...

Cheers :D

Yeah, it makes no sense - they say they want to target baby boomers with shows (classic and recent) that appeal to them.

They are also picking up "Just Shoot Me" and "Scrubs."

They should stick to CLASSIC tv.

Looks like classic TV will be extinct on TV Land before long. It already has happened on Nick at Nite. And since when has Scrubs become classic? It is still on the air on NBC and Just Shoot Me was cancelled in 2002 and what is so classic about Just Shoot Me?

Well of course!
That way they can create "TVLand Classics" which will be a premium channel that you will have to pay for!
Or haven't you guys figured out this scam yet?

Remember when Cartoon Network played classic cartoons?
Then they created Boomerang so you had to pay for that.

There was Disney to watch classic Disney toons, but then they created TOON so now u have to pay for that...
You see the pattern? Its because they can't negotiate higher rates with the cable venders for the existing channels, so they have to keep creating new ones. I bet in about 10 years, we'll be talking about how they are Jericho reruns on TVLandClassics, and then there will be a TVLandClassics Classics channel that you'll have to really shell money out for...

And TV Land sinks deeper into the proverbial pile of steaming-hot dung! What they've done to that channel should be a crime. First movies and reality shows and now this. Extreme Makeover DOES NOT belong on TV Land any more than it belongs on ESPN.

Clearly, we need an alternative source for classic TV....and not from Viacom.

I have an idea, though it may be a long shot of sorts. Let's call our cable provider (as in the ones that needs to add a real classic TV channel in some cities) to get either RTN or American Life TV. At least they DO know how to program a REAL classic TV channel.

And....let me get this straight....Extreme Makeover: Home Edition?! Earth to TV Land......we haven't even started the 2010' or 2020s yet! HELLO!!!! Viacom, get a REAL brain!!!!

I'd like to see a channel that would pick up the classic shows that are currently on RTN, ALN, and ION, and also possibly pull the rug from under TV Land on some of the shows that they've been sitting on and not showing.

While each of the other networks have classic shows, they all have their shortcomings. ALN and ION only have classic TV shows in prime time, and infomercials on ION and talk shows on ALN during the rest of the time. RTN has more classic TV during the day, but even they have some shows that really aren't classic, and they have too much time with infomercials on late nights and weekends.
