The DX'ing was great last night. Heard what sounded like a country (?) station bleeding through normally strong 94.5 WJMN on Rte 3 South in SE MA. Also received 97.1 WQHT New York, 100.5 WRCH Middletown/Hartford loud and clear.

i got a 95.7 kiss fm from ct wccc,87.7 nyc 96.5 philly, something on 104.9 playing chr defenitly not wboq. 100.5 from ct,wezn from ct on 99.9 95.1 playing at 40 not sure from where. heard what sounded like smooth jazz on 94.3 93.9 i heard bits what sound like classic rock not mike hash i doulbed checked that. thats it including cape cod loud and clear from here in franklin mass

The country on 94.5 was WCMS from NC
Kiss 95.7 was WKSS Hartford-Meriden, CT
96.5 was WRDW Philadelphia
The CHR 104.9 was SoJo 104.9 WSJO Egg Harbor City/Atlantic City, NJ
The CHR on 95.1 was WAYV Atlantic City, NJ
94.3 was most likely WIBG from Wildwood, NJ

This was a great tropo opening. The duct extended from Maine to NC, about 700 miles, and followed I-95, hence we got reception of stations from cities along I-95. There were at least 2 stations fighting on every frequency.

I forgot to add these to the list but I also received:

93.1 WHYN (Springfield, MA) "Mix 93.1"

93.7 WZMX (Hartford, CT) "Hot 93.7" over local 93.7 WMKK

94.7 WMAS (Springfield, MA)

96.5 WTIC (Hartford, CT) over local 96.5 WMLL

98.9 WORC (Webster, MA)

I had all kinds of stuff from New Brunswick down to North Carolina over the past 2 nights. The best catches for me last night were 98.1 WTVR, 100.9 WHTI, 102.1 WRXL, and 103.7 WURV from Richmond, VA. I didn't log anything new, but I did get 94.7 WDSD Dover, DE in HD for the first time.

thanks i knew some but im surprisedi got so much it was best ive seen this summer thanks for the info

From the upper cape, I picked up CBC Radio 1 on 93.1 loud and clear (usually I use this frequency for my XM radio).

Not sure of the call letters. May have been CKCU in Ottawa which looks like it may run some CBC programs.

Please reconfirm that it was 93.1.

The reason I ask is that a quick perusal of CBC Radio's website finds no CBC Radio 1 or Radio 2 affiliates at that frequency anywhere in eastern Canada. CBC One in Ottawa is at 91.5 according to them. However, CBC Saint John, NB (an occasional tropo catch in New England) is at 91.3.

Just want to make sure that there was no dyslexia in your post while figuring out what you got. Because it's very interesting.

In New England, is August a more likely month for tropo than July? The pattern, especially in recent summers, has been such that the e-skip seasons runs anywhere from late May until early July, and the tropo season starts anywhere from late July and usually lasts until early September. Is there anything to this?

The tropo has been so good that one can often get different stations on the same frequency, depending on how the radio antenna is pointing. For example, at my place along the Rhode Island shore, during tropo season, on 107.9 I can often get WEBE/Westport and WXKS/Medford, and all I have to do is shift the antenna.
