extremely happy now

I had a SIRIUS satellite radio before and was NOT happy with it at all no overnight programing was live. So I got me an HD radio and that was complete garbage nothing but transmitter Drop outs after a few months of that trash I got me an XM radio. I have to say I am extremely happy with it..I got the XM onyX radio only 58 dollars at walmart every where else has it at 80 dollars..I wonder why XM has live overnight programing and SIRIUS does not..

I've got a couple of Xpress units that I bought and then cancelled the service on them when XM raised the price and cut the service. I'll sell them cheaper than Walmart.

What live overnight shows do you listen to? Sirius has live shows on ESPN Radio and Sporting News overnight. Jonesy's All Night Truck Stop runs on Road Dog Trucking. They used to have an overnight show on Mad Dog Radio but that stopped. When it comes to original overnight programs they really drop the ball.

The whole XM things sucks. They keep charging me for a radio that got stolen out of my car 3 weeks ago. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing! They are ONE BIG MESS!! I will cancel my one radio with them and tel them to kis my A.. at the sametime.!!!

careful radioaircheck... the vein on your neck is showing. FYI you can call and cancel your account.... chill.

Well, now they have sent me a survey on how my experience was with XM. Just imagine the fun I am going to have with that. They keep charging my account still. I ad to get my bank involved this time bechase they are stupid!

XM has more talk channels.I listen to very little OF the music 90% of what I listen to is the talk..Sirius does not have the same talk programming..xm has live talk over night sirius does not..

America's Truckin' Network | 152 Extreme Talk | 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM(live)
Coast to Coast | 165 Talk Radio | 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM (4 hrs)(live)
XM ONLY!!!!
SIRIUS live overnight nothing!!!!!!!!!(maybe sports or something I don't like any sports)

Oh okay, thanks for the clarification.

I actually bought XM years ago for Coast to Coast AM after I got tired of retuning to AM after AM while on the road. With the advent of HD on many of the big clear channels, a recent band scan reaffirmed that XM is the only way to go while traveling.

Really I listen to the Opie & Anthony channel almost exclusively now, though. If they had a way to get JUST that channel or it with the talk channels, I'd be in heaven. But for some reason Uncle Mel doesn't see fit to include them with the "only music" OR "only talk" options.

Alright then. You won't see those shows on Sirius because they're both Clear Channel produced. I was going to list the live overnight talk shows on both, but I think we actually listed them all.

I read that the PD of some of those XM only talk channels wants to put Phil Hendrie's 1AM-4AM show on, but there's currently no live slots available.

Roy Masters live overnight show used to be carried on XM 166 before the merger. XM 167 carried Clout and another Air America show from 12AM-4AM. They weren't live, but they were "new."

Amazin' Mel Karmazin fired almost all the good XM music / program directors of the XM music channels (decades especially) in favor of voicetracked goofballs. The exception is a few on the 60's on 6 and 50's on 5, otherwise it's voicetrack city. How depressing. XM decades used to be live from 6AM (E.T.) thru 6pm, then usually VT the next 12 hours, but it was almost always live in the morning and afternoon drivetimes - you could actually email and call-in music requests and actually get them played!

Yup, passion has no place at Sirius. They got rid of some good talent on the less popular channels like XMU, too. The After School Special with Tobi was one of the highlights of the college rock channel, imho.

After about six years, I'm now no longer a subscriber, every single reason why is related to Mel's actions. :(
