exWOAI-TV's Jennifer Broome joins Austin's Big Talker

Unless she came cheaper than Wetherbee, I'm not really sure what benefit Border Media is expecting to get from her.

Don't know where Wetherbee is based, but I believe Broome is much closer to home. Never been a fan of outsourcing news, weather and traffic to outside the market.

No wonder people are having trouble finding radio work, Wetherbee is hogging all the jobs.

According to his bio on wtoc.com, Wetherbee "...serves up to 20 radio weather clients around the country with his RADIO WEATHER SERVICE. "I get to be a part of so many great morning shows from right here in Savannah."

Big John is currently operations manager for the six-station Clear Channel Radio cluster, program director for NewsRadio 1290 WTKS, music director and afternoon host for 98.7 The River, "and I do the floors!"

And John was the mid-day guy for years on KQXT - when it was known as "Soft Rock 101.9." He voice-tracked into San Antonio from Atlanta.

Jen should have applied for the open meterologist position at KVUE replacing Meghan Danahey. That would have been cool. Does Anyone know if Jen commutes to Austin? Or does she just do the weather reports from BMP's San Antonio broadcast facilities?

I'm guessing she does it from home as many freelance meteorologists do. It's not hard these days thanks to broadband connections.
